Choice of Driving School

The only way to choose a driving instructor or driving school is simple. Choose only RSA adi.

From 1st May 2009 All driving instructors must be registered and approved by the Road Safety Authority before they can give driving lessons for reward. All Qualified driving instructor's name's in all irish driving schools are displayed at www.drivertesting.info. View approved driving instructor. This is the only way you can choose the right school when paying for lessons. Certification by a driving school is not qualification as the instructor's name if qualified must on the RSA website.

To be Qualified each candidate must have:

1. Passed a extended Theory Test
2. Passed an advanced version of the driving test
3. Passed an instructional ability test
4. Registration

Note: adi permits are issued to individuals not driving schools!

When successfully on all 4 stages each driving instructor's name will appear on www.rsa.ie If unsuccessful it will not appear. ADI's will be check-tested every two years to ensure that the prescribed standard is maintained.

Q1. Do you want to pay for driving lessons from an untrained unqualified driver ? A driving instructor may have had no training whatsoever.

Q2. Does your instructor's name appear on the RSA web, Passed the three stage RSA qualification process?.

Q3. Does your instructor have a a full ADI permit visible when taking driving lessons?.

Q4. Should you ask to see a full permit when taking driving lessons. put simply yes!

You are the person buying so be sure to spend wisely.

.Finally, when you have selected your school, book a lesson as soon as possible. This will give you time to work on the driving faults highlighted by your instructor.
