The only way to choose a driving instructor or driving school is simple. Choose only RSA adi.
From 1st
May 2009 All driving instructors must be registered and approved
by the Road Safety Authority before they can give driving
lessons for reward. All Qualified driving instructor's name's
in all irish driving schools are displayed at www.drivertesting.info.
View approved driving instructor. This is the only way you
can choose the right school when paying for lessons. Certification
by a driving school is not qualification as the instructor's
name if qualified must on the RSA website.
To be Qualified each candidate must have:
1. Passed a extended Theory Test
2. Passed an advanced version of the driving test
3. Passed an instructional ability test
4. Registration
Note:
adi permits are issued to individuals
not driving schools!
When successfully
on all 4 stages each driving instructor's name will appear
on www.rsa.ie If unsuccessful it will not appear. ADI's will
be check-tested every two years to ensure that the prescribed
standard is maintained.
Q1. Do
you want to pay for driving lessons from an untrained unqualified
driver ? A driving instructor may have had no training whatsoever.
Q2. Does
your instructor's name appear on the RSA web, Passed the three
stage RSA qualification process?.

Does your instructor have a a full ADI permit visible when
taking driving lessons?.
Q4. Should
you ask to see a full permit when taking driving lessons.

when you have selected your school, book a lesson as soon
as possible. This will give you time to work on the driving
